Quickchester began around 2010 when Paul Quick and Mark Chester began playing music together, performing as a duo by 2012. During that time they began to play original songs penned by Chester. In 2019, Quickchester released their first album, “Cocoon.”
Sidelined by Covid in 2020, Quickchester reformed in 2022 with vocalist, flute player and songwriter Kyley Byrd, followed shortly thereafter by Stu Way on drums and JD Smith on bass. Today the band continues to write new material and revive deep-cut classic covers you probably haven't heard for awhile.
Dedicated to their roots, Quickchester writes and performs songs influenced by Classic Rock and Folk from the 1960s and 70s. Mixing covers from their favorite performers with their own music, Quickchester's performances are joyful and inspiring.
Major musical influences include The Band, JJ Cale, Bob Dylan, The Grateful Dead,
Col. Bruce Hampton, Little Feat, Pink Floyd, The Derek Trucks Band,
Neil Young and Gillian Welch.
